5 Must Do Things in Uganda That Will Make Your Trip Memorable

Uganda is a wonderful diverse country with too much to offer though it has famed to the world for mountain gorillas. Visitors have treasured memories of waving goodbye to Lake Victoria and to the friendly people carrying home variety of happy moments and times. However taking a keen look at all the great tourist attractions in Uganda, Here is a list of those that make your trip wonderful.

Gorilla Trekking

If you’re looking   to see exceptional primate species in the jungle as well as spending a few days in the wilderness, then gorilla trekking in Bwindi or Mgahinga national park is probably your best thing to do on your safari in Uganda. Tracking gorillas is exploring the hidden gems of the well conserved rain forest jungles in Africa. Be ready to meet up with other primate species, mountain gorillas the main tourist  attraction in Uganda, golden monkeys, Birds ,feed eyes with great scenery of  the volcanoes and green hilly vegetation, get a mix of ancient lifestyle of the forest people  and many others. However you should be above the age of 15 to track gorillas because the hikes are quite challenging. Tracking gorillas twice is allowed provided your pocket is deep enough to cater for two gorilla permits each at only $600.

Mountaineering & Hiking

Mountain Climbing in Uganda is among the main attractions and there are a couple of mountains, volcanoes and hills including Mt Rwenzori, Mt Elgon, Gahinga Volcanoes, Kigulu hill, lake Bunyonyi hills among others. Whether it’s not on your trip itinerary make it a point to hike or go mountaineering while in Uganda and your trip will be just memorable beyond what you had imagined. If you fit enough hike the Gahinga volcanoes or hike mountain Rwenzori. But for the un fit just take a simple hike to a simple hill and add value to your Uganda safari tour.

Game Viewing

Eager wildlife seekers should head to Murchison falls, Kidepo valley, Queen Elizabeth, and Lake Mburo National park the famous game viewing parks in Uganda. Its only here where you can take a glance at the Big five and variety of different wildlife species. If you want to hear your ranger guide shout loud “SEE”, the explore the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth and take clear glance at tree climbing lions. Game viewing is year round and find Uganda a perfect destination for wildlife safaris in Africa.

Chimpanzee Trekking

As you plan your trip to Uganda keep in mind that there are several attractive primate species like chimpanzees that live in Kibale forest national park, Kyambura gorge & Kalinzu forest reserve of Queen Elizabeth national park and Budongo forest in Murchison falls. There are two classic treks o discover the real beauty of chimps that are best tracked during the wet season months or just after the rainy season. Chimpanzee habituation is one of them where you spend the all day with chimps from the time they wake up to the time they retire for the day .The other is the chimpanzee trekking tour where visitors spend only one hour with chimps and return back .Chimpanzee trekking is done twice in the morning and afternoon except in Kibale forest where it’s done thrice a day.

Boat cruise & Rides

Make sure your Uganda safari has boat trips and rides because it’s the most fantastic way to spend an evening in a lake destination. Taking you back most tourist attractions in Uganda have lakes, and rivers  with leisure tour activities of the baots.Most interesting boat ride places in clued Murchison falls, Queen Elizabeth, Source of the Nile, Bunyonyi Island, Lake Mutanda, Lake Victoria in Entebbe, Ssese Island among others.
