Date:

Share:

For the five years we have been in car Rental business, we have noticed that customers rent car at the last minute as much as they book in advance. Most visitors’ last minute Car rental plans increasingly match in the way we live today, yet it doesn’t always mean that the last minute rates are going to be cheaper. Like it is with schedules bus journeys or plan flights, renting a car just before your road trip tends to be more costly yet with proper planning, you can get last minute car rental cheaply.

Therefore, there are the tips on how to get last minute cheap Uganda car rental;

First book for the Rental Car online before you go

Whether you plan on using the Rental Car for 30 minutes, one hour or one day, it is always advisable to first make your booking for the car ahead of time and do it online. This allows you to make comparison between the rates and even possible to choose the right deal (obviously with the right Car rental Company) of your choice. However, if you leave everything to luck and simply show up at the Company offices, you will just be limiting yourself to whatever Car is left at the Company’s parking lot hence subjected to a last-minute rate.

Walk-in Car Rental Rates are usually set each day by the Company managers and unless they are almost sold out, these managers will most likely select middle of the road rates that ate normally higher than what was originally set.

Book the Rental Car at the right day of the week

Another important tip on how to get last minute cheap Car rental is by booking on the right day of the week, say Tuesdays. Experience has shown that some Car Rental Companies normally have last-minute rates uploaded on Tuesdays for the next week hence saving you a lot of money. If your road trip is around the Holiday seasons or days like Friday and Saturdays, be sure of paying more money than usual. You are likely to pay more when you rent cars during the festive season (like Christmas).

Play around with pick-up and drop-off times

Sometimes, you are likely to pay less money when you pick-up and drop-off the Rental Car at the exact same time of the day. However, if you indicate times that don’t correspond to the pick-up and drop-off times by just a few hours, you risk being charged for another day of using the Car. For instance, if you picked the Car at 9:00am on Monday and expect to use it for two days, you will be expected to drop it off at 9:00am on Wednesday and if you instead drop it off at 1:00pm, chances are high that you will be charged for an additional day.

Some Car Rental Companies even have grace periods and it is important to follow the indicted times to avoid for an additional day. If the indicated pick-up and drop-off times are within the same time range and the drop-off time is the later that the indicated time, then choose a pick-up time in the same hour as the expected drop-off time.

Avoid Airport Rental Cars

Anyone will tell you that Airport Rental cars are far more costly than with Companies far from the Airport or Entebbe Town. For this reason, another simple way to get a last minute cheap Car rental is opting for Companies that offer free transfers to their offices and if you plan to rent within a City, take into consideration the sites that are little bit far from the City Center.

Take note of the additional costs

Additional costs in form of insurance, fuel mileage for different models of cars, additional driver fees, baby car seat and GPS systems have to be considered if you yearn to get last minute cheap Car Rental. Make sure that the Company doesn’t sell insurance that you don’t need hence always check regular insurance policies that your payment covers.

Look for the cheap Car rental deals

Before you zero on a particular Car Rental deal, make sure that you have done a quick search, because you are likely to get discount at the end of the day.
