Abby has been directing and acting for theatre since 1994. He has acted and directed over 30 plays acted by his acting company The Afri-Talent. He won the Best Actor Uganda National Theater Award in 1994 for his role as King Freddie in a play Saagala Agalamidde at the Uganda National Theatre.
Abby Mukiibi: Yes I did have so much interest. I was this kind of boy who participated in school plays, though I so much wanted to get to a bigger platform. My Uncle Omugaave Ndugwa was an actor who had his own acting group called Black Pearls. When he realized my interest, he gave me acting roles. I would feature in his plays whenever they needed a role of a young boy. That helped me get used to the big audience.
Yes I am a busy man but to be able to do all I do, you have to like what you do and be able to meet all deadlines. I am always at the radio premises from 5am to 5pm because am the Programs director.
